Interoperability of Technology and Healthcare Industry

Technology is avid in all industries and Health Care Industry remains no different. But, what does remain different is the technology Providers. Some of the different Healthcare Industry sectors that uses Technology are:

Health Care Providers:
Include physicians, operating department practitioners, dentists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmaconomists/pharmacists, therapists, psychologists, chiropractors, physical therapists, optometrists, paramedics, and a wide variety of other individuals regulated and/or licensed to provide some type of health care.

Hospitals:
Include services such as an emergency department or specialist trauma centre, burn unit, surgery, or urgent care. These may then be backed up by more specialist units such as cardiology or coronary care unit, intensive care unit, neurology, cancer center, and obstetrics and gynecology.


Clinics:
Include Retail Based Clinic, Poly Clinic, General Out-Patient Clinic, Specialist Clinic, Sexual Health Clinic, Fertility Clinic, Abortion Clinic, Primary Health Care.


E-Health Businesses:
Include Electronic Health Records, Telemedicine, Consumer Health Informatics, Health knowledge management, Virtual healthcare teams, mHealth or m-Health, Healthcare Information System.


Wellness Services:
Include biomedical engineering, biotechnology, nursing, nutrition, pharmacology, pharmacy, public health (see above), social work, psychology, physical therapy, and medicine.
